Your regular rate is not your base rate.
Under federal law your night, weekend, charge and float differentials must be folded into your regular rate before overtime is multiplied. Hospital payroll systems routinely multiply the base rate instead.
Four numbers and this shows you the rate your overtime should have been paid on, the premium owed, and the gap. It runs in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere and there is nothing to sign up for.
Your week
Differentials
The rates below are common hospital values — ours to correct, not yours. Enter the hours each differential was paid on. A Saturday night hour belongs in both rows; that is not double counting, it is two premiums on one hour.
Night differential
Weekend differential
Charge differential
Float differential
Enter your base rate, the hours you worked in one week and your overtime hours. The figure appears here as you type. Nothing is sent anywhere.
What this check does not do.
It looks at one workweek and one rule: the overtime premium on the regular rate. It does not look at an auto-deducted meal period, a charge premium missing from the stub entirely, unpaid orientation hours, a wrong holiday rate, or on-call pay that never appeared. Those are the other ways a hospital paycheck comes up short, and they need the whole pay period.
Some pay — a true premium already paid at time and a half, certain gifts and reimbursements — is excludable from the regular rate under 29 CFR 778.200. Enter hourly differentials here, not bonuses or reimbursements.

No patient data. Ever.
This is a pay tool. There is no field for a patient, a unit or a diagnosis, and there will not be one.

We are not your lawyer.
ShiftStack hands you arithmetic. We never act for you, never contact your employer, and never promise the money comes back.
Reading on the rules: night differential and overtime, a lunch you never took, charge pay missing from a shift you ran.
